Ready for the Holidays!!!

No major projects from my kiddos yet, but I did want to share my classroom door (above) and the bulletin board (below).
The bulletin board was an inspiration when I googled Christmas poems.  This popped up and I figured it would make a cute bulletin board.  Each student made an elf  (googled elf crafts) and they are jumping on the sleigh.  Each day I pick a stick from my jar and that is the student that will fall off the sleigh and "slide away".  The picture shows two elves to the right that have found that jumping on the sleigh isn't the safest thing to do.  The kids get really excited when it is time to pick.  Some want to be picked to "slide away" while others want to stay on the sleigh.  It is a lot of fun to move the elf down.  The student who is picked gets to decide how he wants his elf to land.   Apparently they like to land on their heads!! I then change the number to whatever is left to jump.

We have only one elf to fall of the sleigh!!  Poor guys, as you can see the elves had a tough time
on the sleigh.  The kiddos had a blast with this activity.  We recited the poem each day as the child who was to fall off the sleigh went out the door.  I just love the "pile" of elves!!
